Addonis - Add-on and Preferences Manager for Blender
Addonis helps you organize and tame your (probably hundreds) of Blender add-ons!
Group and mass enable/disable, all while persisting your settings.
Blender, more than any product I've ever used, depends upon a complex plugin ecosystem to extend and enhance its core features. As a program that can do it all, and for many DOES do it all, this huge array of plugins can get pretty hairy to manage.
What's worse is that often a plugin will clear its settings when you disable it, leading you to have to set and reset options multiple times for the same plugin.
Also, you often want to have a set of Plugins active for certain types of work. You have plugins for rendering, plugins for rigging, plugins for animation, for modelling (hard and soft surface, on and on and on)...You're left deciding on just activating everything and running into hotkey fighting and other cross-add-on instabilities, or spending a lot of time hunting down and resetting your plugin setup for today's tasks.
Those days are over, thanks to Addonis, This beautiful add-on is (get it?) a solution that will save you hundreds of hours and pain for $5 :).
The main interface
The plugin allows you to do two unique and amazing things:
1) You can define groups of plugins easily. You select the plugins that should be a part of the group, click the Add button [+], and Addonis creates backups of the plugin settings. Name the group something that makes sense for that particular set of plugins...say, "Animation," and then select another set of plugins for a different purpose. Repeat for as many organizational purposes as you have. Let the OCD FLOW through you. You can now switch between all of these groups, return your machine to the same plugins active when you installed Addonis, or make a clear sweep and enable almost nothing at all!
When you re-enable them, the settings you made will still be there, whether you have "Auto-Save Preferences" on or not.
2) Create Preference Packs, an exportable JSON that can restore sets of common system settings along with plugins. Use it in a classroom or studio to help people get to a "common ground" quickly. Use it as a backup for when you want to move from one machine to another or after a rebuild. Share them with friends and understanding family!
If an Add-on is available in Blender's root sources, we can install it. If it isn't and the URL is known, we can link to it, and if it doesn't know, it tells you.
"But wait....am I supposed to open preferences all the time? What are you thinking?!"
Don't worry---I got you, scro!
Addonis has a minimal N-Panel that allows you to switch between your Add-ons quickly. You can Apply them strict (Enables your group choice and disables non-group add-ons) or non-strict (adds the add-ons in the group and keeps the ones enabled, still enabled.) It also lets you disable all plugins other than ones you've designated as protected, and you can quickly open the larger setup right from the NPanel too!
This one was a labor of love, but it's easy to love...an Addonis! Buy it now and you'll fall in love too.
